Account deletion
You can ask us to delete your Yourpace account and all your practice data at any time. Yourpace and the Yourpace Music app are published by Vinkl, Vlasaardstraat 8, 8210 Veldegem, Belgium.
Request a deletion
Email us from the address you use to sign in to Yourpace. That is how we know the request is really yours.
Button not working? Email info@vinkl.be yourself with the subject “Request to delete my account”, from your account's email address.
What we delete
When you request a deletion, we erase everything attached to your account:
- your account and your sign-in details (your Google identifier as we hold it);
- your name and email address as we received them from Google;
- your full practice history: your level per topic, your answers, your scores, your practice counter and your streak;
- your settings and preferences;
- any emails you sent us about your account.
Deletion is permanent. We cannot restore a deleted account or a deleted practice history, not even if you come back later.
What we keep, and for how long
- Backups — up to 90 days. Your data disappears from the live database immediately, but copies may remain in encrypted backups until those are overwritten on their normal rotation. They are not used for anything during that period.
- Fully anonymous statistics — indefinitely. Aggregate figures that cannot be traced back to you, such as how many exercises were completed in a month. These are no longer personal data.
- Whatever the law requires. If we have to retain something to meet a legal obligation, we keep only that, and only for as long as we must.
How long it takes
We acknowledge your request within a few working days and complete the deletionwithin 30 days. That is the period the GDPR allows us; in practice it is usually much faster. You get a confirmation once it is done.
Practising without an account
You can use Yourpace Music without signing in. Your progress then lives only in your own browser and we never hold it. Clearing your browser data clears that progress — you do not need to contact us for it.
Other rights
Deletion is one of your rights under the GDPR. You can also request a copy of your data, have it corrected, or object to a particular processing. Exactly which rights you have and how to exercise them is set out in the privacy policy.
